Backscreen has launched an expanded demo access page, giving media and broadcasting professionals a direct, hands-on way to explore its OTT platform across environments.
The new demo page provides access to both the Backscreen Demo App (APK) — including Gen Z Mode — and a browser-based Demo Website that mirrors the full OTT portal experience. Together, they offer a clear, practical view of how Backscreen’s UX, navigation, and content presentation behave in real-world conditions.
As OTT services continue to grow in complexity, teams need more than slide decks or screenshots. They need to experience how a platform feels — how fast it responds, how content is discovered, and how different audience behaviours are supported across devices.
Experience Cross-Generational OTT UX First-Hand
The Backscreen demo is designed to help industry professionals explore cross-generational OTT UX, with a particular focus on mobile-first behaviours shaping younger audiences.
The demo showcases how short-form, vertical video can be embedded directly into an operator or broadcaster application — an increasingly important capability as viewing time and monetisation continue to shift toward short-format content. Industry research shows that short-video advertising already accounts for over half of total video ad spend, with continued growth expected over the coming years.
Two Ways to Explore the Demo
The demo access page is available at: https://www.backscreen.com/demo-app
It offers two complementary evaluation paths:
App Experience (APK Download)
- Installable on Android devices for native testing
- Demonstrates interaction flow, UI timing, and playback behaviour
- Includes Gen Z Mode with short-format viewing and recap features
- Highlights Backscreen’s cross-generational UX approach for diverse audiences
Web Portal Experience
- Reflects a full OTT portal with banner carousels, featured rows, and clear content categories
- Shows real discovery flows: horizontal browsing, title pages, and quick previews
- Demonstrates responsive layouts and smooth navigation across desktop and mobile
Customised Demos Available
For teams looking to go further, Backscreen also offers customised demo environments, tailored to specific workflows, content setups, or technical goals. This allows organisations to explore how the platform can adapt to their own vision, audience strategy, and infrastructure.
A Creative Twist
To add a lighter, more playful element, the demo experience also features a series of custom movie posters created by artist Lucas Lauriano. Visitors can even turn their favourite artwork into a personalised T-shirt — making the demo feel less like a trial and more like a discovery.
